Background
Lammidge Designs is a family business based in Mid Wales overlooked by the picturesque Black Mountains.
​
Everyone in Lammidge has a design education background with a good understanding of materials and processes.
All have attended The National School of Blacksmithing in Hereford, which has served to further broaden their skills and knowledge and all members of the group have won prizes at the Royal Welsh Show for their work, showing the high standards reached.
​
Over recent times, a new building has been erected to allow ease of production of all items in a comfortable specialised environment.

Design Skills
All members of the group have spent years designing items. The process usually starts with a rough sketch or physical placing of small components, depending on the type of product.

Follow-on design techniques range through using CAD and photo-editing to produce the desired image for jewellery or for the cutting / bending template for forged items.
Where items are to be forged, sometimes the design is 3D modelled, either using board or card or a bit of wire, this is then improved on before the actual item manufacture is started.
Materials Knowledge and Selection
For items such as jewellery, good quality components such as beads and spacers etc are individually chosen and positioned to achieve a quality result
When one of our unique engraved designs is to be produced there is constant liaison with the manufacturer to get the best result. .
